COOK THIS, NOT THAT! KITCHEN SURVIVAL GUIDE is positive.  It’s worth twenty bucks!

Did you read about the Trail Ride I took on Friday?  I don’t know if it burned too many calories, but it was a beautiful day at Camp Pendleton with good skinny bean friends.  My horse was Bart.  He was blond, the same color as Daisy Bean.

I always get off on another subject, but there is another story to this story.    Someone fell off their horse, paramedics came to us and, OMG, it was awful.    Yes, it was a friend.   As I see, I wrote it was “a beautiful day”.  Hmmm . . . This is a tale for another day.

And, as Jimmy Buffet wrote, “If We Weren’t Crazy, We Would be Insane”.

DOES RIDIING HORSES BURN CALORIES?

by Evie on January 16, 2010

You are not going to believe this.

Today I am going to Camp Pendleton, CA with girlfriends from Lake San Marcos for a horseback ride.  Nancy owns a horse and rides at least once a week with her daughter.  I am not sure about the other ladies, but we will be on a trail at the Camp and I am told it is a beautiful ride.   The last time I rode a horse was with my granddaughters.   That was a long time ago.  They were around 8 & 9.  Now in their 20′s.   They and their Mom, Trish, are great riders.  Hardcore.   DaisyBean used to be their ”trail dog”.  She ” trotted”  along with Trish, Nichol and Gina.  They are beautiful women and they are SkinnyBeans.  Even though they are hearty eaters,  they burn lots of calories.  YES, of course, like any activity, rather than becoming a couch potato, a horseback ride will help you burn calories.

DaisyBean & I had a stroll early this morning.  That’s about the extent of heavy exercise for our beautiful Lab.    No more trails.  She gets her exercise though & little bitty treats.  How big are your treats!

Tell me, what kind of exercise keeps you fit?

How Daisy Bean Got “SKINNY AGAIN”

January 12, 2010

How did Miss Daisy Bean get “SKINNY AGAIN”.  For most of her adult life Daisy Bean was overweight. It started shortly after her formative years.  Daisy developed a great love for eating. Everyone agreed “Daisy is beautiful, but still, a little overweight”. She ate healthy food most of the time and she didn’t overindulge at [...]

“Drop a Dress Size in A Week”

January 11, 2010

“Drop a Dress Size in A Week”. Today, Sunday, I read that silly caption on a weekly publication, while standing in line at the supermarket.   I decided to make Jewish Penicillin (simply soup)  for Gene, who has a runny nose.  That meant I had to get some fresh chicken, noodles and throw together with cayenne, [...]

Skinny Block, String Bean, Butter Bean, etc

January 9, 2010

String Bean – Butter Bean – Bean Pole – Ever heard of those expressions as they relate to your body. Once, in recent years, someone referred to my behind as a “skinny little ass”. That reminded me of the movie, Chicago. They used that expression, so I liked the movie, the actors and story, so [...]

Yesterday was my first day on my blog and I am planning to write everyday until the message about how to use a Skinny Block makes sense to everyone who reads about it and chooses to participate.  It has been spinning through my mind for years.    If you knew how many years, you would think I am ancient.  [...]
